My Inspiration for this collection:
The Cleo Collection is inspired by the life and fashion of the famous female ruler of Egypt, Cleopatra. Quick-witted, speaker of multiple languages, and a highly educated writer, Cleopatra was in every essence a bold, brilliant woman. Beyond her political prowess, her style continues to influence fashion today (...I am still trying to nail her cat-eye look). She was not a minimalist, especially when it comes to jewels. I love how she layered, chose big pieces, and there was always lots of gold. I have been wanting to try a faux brass look with clay to make pieces look like metal but keep them lightweight and Cleopatra was the perfect inspiration for this technique.
