My Inspiration for this collection:
Inspired by the former First Lady of the United States, author, philanthropist, and all-around badass, Michelle Obama, this collection stands out with its asymmetrical designs and bold colors.
Over the last few months, as current events have spun a certain chaos into our world, I couldn't help but think of these wise words from Michelle, “When they go low, we go high."
I've always been inspired by Michelle's ability to meet each moment with grace and class, the way she stays true to herself and showcases her self-confidence in her style choices (I mean, can we say ICON?), and encourages us to make our voices heard every step of the way. This collection was inspired by Michelle's iconic wardrobe including her purple power suit and gowns from various events. I was also inspired by the incredible work of Amy Sherald and the portrait she painted of Michelle.
Launching this collection in the midst of election season feels so right and I hope it inspires you to vote because our country and our democracy depends on it.
